It's the last week of the Olympics, and it's been a great week for USA and Burnette Insurance!

Just this week, we helped Mark D save over $320 per year on his Suwanee Auto Insurance and we were able to give him better coverage by increasing his liability coverage to $500,000.  Welcome Mark!

We also saved Barbara Y over $500 per year on her Lawrenceville home, auto and umbrella insurance. We are also working on quotes for Barbara's business insurance as well. Thank you for the business Barbara!!

Burnette Insurance - Week In Review
Burnette Insurance Blog By Burnette Insurance on 2/22/2010 10:53 AM
This blog was originally intended to post last Friday, Feb 19, so it would make much more sense if you view it through those lenses (insert smiley face here)

Happy Friday to all our friends on the interwebs!  While I am sure that many of you spent this week trying to recuperate from the Valentine's Day weekend, and the sheer amount of chocolate, candy and lasagna (the food of love; or is that Hot dogs?) you consumed on Sunday, we at Burnette Insurance were busy saving new customers money and getting them great coverage on their homes and autos.  Just a quick sampling:

Alex & Angela M saved over $250 per six months on their Lawrenceville Auto Insurance policy by switching to us from Allstate.  Welcome Alex & Angela!

Joe F saved over $630 per year by switching to us from Sta ...

New "MOVE OVER" law for drivers in Georgia.
Burnette Insurance Blog By Burnette Insurance on 2/3/2010 10:29 AM
By now, I am sure that many of you have heard about the new law here called "Georgia's Move Over Law" which went into effect about a year ago.  Below is an email we received from one of our contacts about his recent experience with this law (names changed to protect the innocent):

I wanted to let my neighbors know about the GA move over law. My son (or daughter) got a ticket on Pleasant Hill coming back from Wal-Mart. A Duluth police car (turned out it was 2 police cars) was on the side of the road giving a ticket to someone else. My son slowed down to pass but did not move into the other lane. The second police car immediately pulled him over and gave him a ticket. My son and I had never heard of the law. It is a fairly new ...

New Year - New Resolution! Quick Tips to eating well!!
Burnette Insurance Blog By Burnette Insurance on 1/22/2010 10:13 AM
So, the new year has just started.  It's hard to believe we are already 3 full weeks into 2010!!  I'm sure that many of us decided to resolve to eat better and become healthier, starting January 3rd of course.  Can't eat healthy on January 1st or 2nd!

For those of us who have not already blown their healthy eating resolution (full admission - mine lasted four days until I came upon some delicious soft tacos and cheese dip), here are some tips that might be of some help in the future.  Nothing groundbreaking here - just smart eating tips!  Also, there's a recipe at the bottom from our very own Cindy Walker, who despite the disadvantage of being a Bulldog fan, is an excellent cook.  Thanks Cindy!

Before we give you these tips, be sure to keep checking our Burnette Insurance site for great information on Georgia Business &a ...

What does H.R. risk management for the employer really mean and as a business owner or manager, why should I care?
Burnette Insurance Blog By Burnette Insurance on 1/14/2010 9:58 AM

The problem with managing risk is that you never know when something will go wrong or just how bad it will be…things happen just when you think as the saying goes, “Life is good.”  Whether it’s an employee being absent on the day the big project is due, or the worker who gets injured on or off the job, or worse, an unhappy employee who leaves the company in a sour mood and you’re just worried if the situation isn’t really over.

Business owners have little choice, but to manage the risk ahead of time by preparing for any possible outcome, including the worst one.

Wait...an umbrella does more than keep me from getting wet?
Burnette Insurance Blog By Burnette Insurance on 1/11/2010 12:33 PM

One of the most misunderstood types of insurance out there is the
Personal Umbrella policy, aka Excess Liability policy, aka “what the heck is this and why do I need it and does it come with an actual umbrella?” policy.

Will you step in the ring in 2010?
Burnette Insurance Blog By Burnette Insurance on 1/7/2010 10:58 AM

Will you step in the ring in 2010?

Do you find yourself feeling a little like Rocky Balboa looked at the end of Rocky, the movie?  Feeling a little battered and bruised but blessed to still be standing?  Take comfort, you are not alone.  It would be very easy, in this environment, to hug your checkbook and whisper “ain’t gonna be no rematch,” and mean it.  2009 has been tough.
