Many of us know from painful personal experience that home DIY projects do not always go to plan, yet we still try to cut corners and save money by undertaking DIY business projects. Georgia business insurance may offer some protection from the risks of running a small business, but insurance is unlikely to compensate you for money wasted on hasty projects, whether as part of your business or your home. Here are two unfortunate and potentially costly DIY-gone-wrong scenarios:

• A homeowner has heard that installing a dishwasher can be done in half a day. He has a spare weekend and decides to save money by installing a new dishwasher himself rather than employing a plumber. At the end of the weekend, the dishwasher has still not been installed, electrical supply and water supply to kitchen services have been turned off, and he has to abandon the project until the next weekend.
• A business owner is rushing to launch an ecommerce website, but all the professional website developers she calls quote four to six week time scales for the project. She decides to purchase a cheap DIY website package that promises she’ll be able to get a website up and running within a day. Three months later, she has only a basic landing page to show for her efforts.

Optimism is no substitute for skill when it comes to DIY projects at home or in business. Take a deep breath and count to ten if you’re tempted to save money and time by embarking on a hasty DIY project. Georgia business insurance may provide protection from some business risks, but it can’t always protect you from yourself!
